On December 6, 2009, Paul V. Murka passed away at the age of 59 while surrounded by his friends and family after a long and courageous bout with pancreatic cancer.

During his 37 years at Fidelity Orthopedic, Paul served his patients with cutting-edge technology combined with compassion and understanding of their daily challenges. Paul expected nothing less than that same commitment from his Fidelity Team…and his team will not disappoint him. Fidelity Orthopedic is dedicated to the memory of our longtime mentor, colleague and friend by continuing his life’s work: “Delivering the Very Best Prosthetic and Orthotic Care to Patients across Southwest Ohio”.

-   Hilmo Hodzic was appointed President of Fidelity Orthopedic by Paul when he became ill. Hilmo has served in that capacity throughout 2009. With Hilmo at the helm, Fidelity continues to provide this region’s highest quality patient care and continue as a successful business.

-   Mark Murka, Paul’s oldest son, is currently a prosthetic intern and is continuing on his path to become the fourth generation of the Murka Family in patient care.

-   Adam Murka, Paul’s youngest son, will be joining Fidelity Orthopedic in an administrative capacity; his experiences in business and government will complement the skilled staff already in place.

-   Brent Libby will continue Paul’s vision of using biomechanical, gait related technologies in providing the most appropriate orthotic devices for our patients.

-   Lucinda Stephan, who worked with Paul for almost twenty years, will continue to serve our clients with the high quality patient care he expected from his staff.

Fidelity Orthopedic has a strong team ready to assist our patients, our referring physicians and therapists and our friends, both now and in the future.

While Paul was a once-in-a-generation person, he insisted that a process be in place for his company to carry on during his illness. With the hard work of everyone on the Fidelity team, that is exactly what happened. Now that Paul has passed, we can think of no more fitting tribute than to continue delivering the finest prosthetic and orthotic care to our patients. We are committed to his plan for Fidelity Orthopedic.
